If you skipped iOS 16.2, you'll get its changes with iOS 16.4.1. These will beef up your account security by requiring a physical security key as part of the two factor authentication sign in process. In addition, the software came with support for physical security keys for Apple ID. If you still see a black screen or you’re still having issues with the touchscreen after trying that, you’ll want to get in touch with Apple’s customer support. You should let it charge for up to an hour. ![]() ![]() If for some reason your iPhone XR doesn’t startup or turn on normally, Apple recommends plugging the phone into a charger to let it charge. In some cases, you might even need to speak with Apple customer service and see if they have a solution. If you find yourself having to force restart your iPhone XR all the time, you should try reseting all of your phone’s settings in the Settings app. After holding the side button down for a few seconds, your iPhone should restart itself. The side button is what Apple calls the power button on newer devices. You need to press the volume up button and volume down button very quickly, but not at the same time. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.Press on the Volume Down button and let go.Press on the Volume Up button located on the left side of the phone and let go.If your iPhone XR stops responding to touches and swipes, here’s what you need to do: The process might take you a few tries to master, but once you’ve gotten the hang of it, it should be committed to memory and you’ll be good to go whenever you run into these issues in the future. On newer iPhones like the iPhone XR, you now need to press two buttons quickly and then press and hold a third button to force restart. The NAS OS Dashboard is a cookie driven app that doesn't always refresh after a firmware (It might still be incorrectly displaying the old version number).If you owned an older iPhone model, you might remember the old process which required you to hold down two buttons to force restart the iPhone. If the firmware successfully updated, but the dashboard does not reflect a new version number, try another browser or clear the cache and cookies from the current browser.NOTE: Some models erase the data stored on the device during a hard reset. If it does not boot normally or doesn't boot at all, you will need to perform a hard reset. If the device boots normally, simply try updating the firmware again.If it has been longer than an hour and there is no determinable progress, or the browser isn't responding, try power cycling the NAS device (remove the power adapter for 10 seconds).You shouldn't have to wait longer than an hour for the firmware on any device. The older the firmware the longer it can take to be updated.
